Kimono My House is a community of musicians that started on March 13, 2020 to keep us connected as we cancelled shows and sheltered in place.
Our plan was for a few friends to perform shows for each other from our living rooms. What it turned into is something so much more meaningful.

What is Kimono My House (KMH)?
KMH is a community of musicians who stream live shows for each other on their Facebook community page.
As the world started to shut down on March 13th of 2020, two friends Andy Gish (The Yum Yum Tree) and Kim Ware (The Good Graces) decided to start a Facebook community for a small group of friends so that they could stay connected as we sheltered in place.
They assumed this would be a small and temporary venture; what it turned into was something much larger and long-lasting than they ever could have imagined. Within weeks KMH had thousands of members and shows were being streamed daily. By April of 2020, they held their first virtual festival with over 30 acts over 3 days of music including musicians from across America and even a few from overseas. The festival raised money for the music venues in their town of Atlanta that were struggling.
Almost 2 years later, they have nearly 8,000 members and over 1,200 archived shows. But more importantly, they have built a community of musicians from across the country who support one another. KMH is responsible for new connections, new bands, reunions of former bands and lots of new friends. Who would have thought on the other side of this we would end up with more friends and more connections?
The scope of KMH is simple: Come as you are, play live from where you are, support one another.

We appreciate you learning about KMH here but THIS IS WHERE IT REALLY HAPPENS!
Are you a veteran musician who just wants to try out new material?
Are you working up to play your first live show?
Are just just starting to play or haven't played in a long time?
There's a place for you here.
You can ease into things with a quick "Pop-up" performance or schedule an hour long live stream on KMH.
All KMH shows are always broadcast live via the KMH Facebook page.
Pop-up shows are like an introduction or check-in. As long as no one else is playing you can "go live" from the KMH Facebook page and play 2-3 songs lasting about 15 minutes.
Want to play longer? Book a Scheduled Show. Check out the calendar, pick a time and write to us and ask for an hour long spot (sets can be 30-60 minutes). This can be from your living room or even broadcast from your live show at a venue.
Community Programming: Some groups have created their own shows within KMH like the weekly "BLT Show." These shows have hosts and are curated by those hosts. Have an idea for a monthly or weekly show? Get in touch and let us know your idea!
KMH is a very open and supportive community.
We love new artists. We love all music. There's even room for poetry and comedy!
We welcome you to play, but we also love it when you attend other's KMH shows and support them. This is what makes it a community.
Many of our artists are from Georgia because that's where we started, but we've had performances from all over the world. We've even new friends this way.
Check out the archives! All shows are archived and you can search "media" on our FB page to see over 1,200 shows that have been broadcast on KMH!
"My life revolves around music. So in March of 2020 when everything grinded to a halt the world seemed very small. I wanted to stay connected to my community. It was very much about what I needed, but that turned out to be what everybody else needed, too"
- Andy Gish
